How to Listen to Your Hypnosis Session
Read our guidelines for getting started with your
session
Have you downloaded your
Instant-Hypnosis.com
session? Wondering how to get started? This page provides
quick instructions to get you up-and-running as quickly as
possible.
Prepare for listening
If you've purchased a hypnosis download, you'll want to
start by transferring the MP3 file to your iPod or other MP3
player. Alternatively, you may wish to burn to an audio CD
in order to listen on your portable CD player.
Next, make yourself comfortable. Hypnosis works best when
you're totally at ease. So sit in a comfortable position, or
perhaps lay down on your bed. Resolve to leave all the
stresses of your day behind you, and slip on your
headphones.
Remember, this is YOUR time... to relax and to change
your life.
Listening to your session
Play the recording. You'll hear an
introduction, followed by the main session.
The vast majority of the sessions
include an induction, which will really help you to let go
and relax, along with soothing ambient music to help you
gently drift away.
Follow the instructions given
during the session, such as the visualization exercises.
Don't worry if you miss a step, or lose track. That's fine.
There's really no need for you to pay too much attention to
what's being spoken. Your subconscious mind will do that for
you.
But while you can hear the
visualization exercises... follow them, and let whatever
happens, happen.
What if your mind starts wandering?
Don't worry if you suddenly start thinking about events that
happened during the day. It's a perfectly natural response.
Just acknowledge the thought and let go. You shouldn't rush
to "clear" your mind... you can't force it. Whatever happens
is perfect for you.
Eventually the hypnosis session
will draw to a close. You'll hear a section containing
upbeat music, and the hypnotherapist will slowly bring you
out of your "trance" and back into the waking world.
You'll then stretch, get up and
feel great!
After the session
When most people finish their first hypnosis session,
they're usually surprised when they look at the clock.
The session either seemed much, much longer than they
thought, or a whole lot shorter. That's because you're in
such a deep state of relaxation, you actually forget about
monitoring the time and just enjoy the experience.
You just get a "feeling" about how long it all took.
You should listen to your hypnosis session once a day for
the first week. For the three weeks after that, listen
between one and three times per week.
By this point, you should have really seen the change in
your life... the positive stories and suggestions in your
session will have started to influence your thoughts,
behavior patterns... possibly even your body shape,
depending on the session you're using.
Pay special attention to the comments from other people.
Because change is made on such a deep level, sometimes
individuals don't realize the change that has taken place
within themselves.
However people around you DO notice... so keep your ear out
for those messages!
After the first month, you can listen to your session as
frequently or as infrequently as you desire. The qualities
you desire have had enough time to take affect on your
subconscious. If you wish, you can "top-up" by listening
once every three months after the first month.
It's really down to you. Further listening can only do good!
If you purchased a special pack or hypnosis course -- such
as the Ultimate Weight Loss hypnosis program -- you will
have different listening requirements. Most of the packs and
courses require you to listen to a session once a day for a
whole week before moving onto the next. Refer to your
original purchase e-mail for full instructions.
Listening to our hypnosis courses
At
Instant-Hypnosis.com,
we also provide a series of
hypnosis courses. These are specially created hypnosis
sessions that are delivered direct to you, week by week.
Each session builds on the power of the last.
It's just like visiting a hypnotherapist each week - yet
without the hassle, expense, and potential embarrassment!
We typically recommend listening to each session for at
least three times over the period of one week. Then, move
onto the next session. Occasionally, a hypnosis session will
suggest different timings. You are welcome to follow these
at your discretion.
Remember, there are no hard and fast rules for listening
to hypnosis sessions. Go with what feels most comfortable
for you. If you feel that you need to give one session more
attention than another, do it!

Common hypnosis myths
The world of hypnosis is plagued with myths and rumors, the
majority of which are completely unfounded. In this section,
we'll attempt to address a few common concerns.
Firstly, hypnosis is completely safe. In reality, all
hypnosis is "self-hypnosis". You are always in charge of
what happens. You cannot be hypnotized if you don't wish to
be hypnotized. And despite what James Bond movies have told
us, you cannot be hypnotized to do things against your will.
That sentence is worthy of repetition: you cannot be
hypnotized to do things against your will.
Hypnosis is 100% SAFE.
Another rumor states that you can get "stuck" in hypnosis
and never come out again. Again, nothing could be further
from the truth. If a hypnotherapist walked out of the room
during a session, or your CD player stopped working, you'd
simply wake up or drift off to sleep, depending on your
state of mind. No-one has ever been stuck in a state of
"terminal hypnosis!"

Questions and answers
It's natural to have still further questions about hypnosis,
especially if you're new to the world of self-development.
Here are a few common questions and answers that may help.
- Can anyone be hypnotized?
Absolutely. You don't need a special mindset, or exceptional
relaxation abilities. You don't need to be either especially
clever or suggestible. You simply need to want to be
hypnotized.
-
I'm critical. Surely it won't work for me?
If you're giving it a go, you're not critical. You have an
open mind. And even though you may doubt some of the
processes that are happening, you'll soon find that they DO
make a big difference in a very short period of time. And
THAT will turn you into a believer!
- My mind keeps wandering. What should I do?
Just let whatever happens, happen. It's all good. Even
though your conscious mind may be thinking about the world
around you, your subconscious will react to the information
given. If you want to calm your mind, simply acknowledge any
thoughts that come along, and let them go. Don't emotionally
attach. And, again, remember... whatever happens is perfect
for you at this time.
- Is it okay to fall asleep when listening?
It's best if you manage to stay awake while listening to
your hypnosis session. It isn't critical, however you'll
find yourself reaping greater results that way. If you find
yourself continuously falling asleep, try sitting up during
the session.
- Can I use several sessions at the same time?
It's often best to focus on one session at a time. This
allows a more targeted approach to changing your mindset.
After listening to one session for a week, THEN move onto
the next. If you have, say, three sessions, and you wish to
listen to each once a day for a week, you may find it takes
slightly longer to change your thought patterns.
-- Will I forget everything from the session?
Some people are in such a deep state of relaxation, they
don't remember exactly what transpired during the session.
Most people however remember much of the session with ease.
But it doesn't matter either way... whether you remember
or not, that's just fine.
